The 2026 High School to Flight School scholarship period is open! The deadline to apply is January 2, 2026.

Submit an Application

Please fill out the HSFS application completely. Be sure to read through the Application Agreement before submitting.

Along with application, please also include:

  • A cover letter. Tell us why you want to earn your private pilot license, what you’ll do for your community service, and how you will manage your time if awarded the scholarship.

  • A letter of recommendation. This can come from anyone — a teacher, relative, even a friend. We want to hear from someone who can tell us why you’re a good fit for High School to Flight School.

  • A scan of your transcript.

Interview

Finalists interview with HSFS board members and mentors the week of January 5 - 9, 2026. Interviews focus on three main areas: Your interest in flying, volunteer plan, and time management skills.
